Kataphracts are DONE!

Yes, I know I have not been updating this blog for a long time. It is because I have been busy doing up my dwarves for the 1st coastal battle mass game. However, I have been making up for the lost time and so after a long wait here they are...

The champion!

The Kataphracts! The best troops of the Eastern Roman (or Byzantine) Empire. They will serve as Kataphracts in my Thematic Byzantine armies or as Emperor's bodyguards in my later age armies.

The symbol on their shields is a simplified form of the Palaiologos emblem. One may ask why I will use such an late age symbol, the answer is because I think that it is nice and it is also quite generic.

I have also done up the shields of the Kavallarioi although theirs are much simpler. Here are the photos of them with their shields.

So what's coming next? I have bought two boxes of Norman Knights from Conquest Games and more Byzantine reinforcements from Gripping Beast. Most likely I will do up the Cataphract Archers first then either the Norman Knights or the Byzantine infantry depending on shelf space and my inspiration. The next battle of the Bantu rebellion will be played soon after the new reinforcements arrived but it will be featured in the other blog.

Have a nice day everyone.
